Renaissance Rose – A Costume Tradition in Ashland Since 1977

Renaissance Rose has been a beloved part of Ashland, Oregon since 1977. Over the decades, our store has become known for high-quality costumes, fun novelty items, and a deep trove of vintage treasures. Generations of locals and visitors remember our big 6,000 sq. ft. location on the downtown plaza—bursting with whimsical gifts, fabulous clothing, and a crew of up to 25 spirited staff members keeping the magic alive.

Like many small businesses, we adapted during the pandemic. In December 2020, we launched our Etsy shop, Ren Rose Ashland, bringing our vintage goods to a broader audience. Around the same time, we downsized to a more intimate space on A Street—where things are a little smaller but just as spirited.

Today, it’s just me in the shop, open a few afternoons a week, focusing on more one-on-one costuming and personal service. Whether you’re headed to a murder mystery party, a themed wedding, a Renaissance faire, or a pirate festival, I’ll help you find just the right look. I both sell and rent from the shop, and still carry many customer favorites: wigs, tiaras, boas, masquerade masks, and face paint crayons. My inventory is vast—over 300,000 items in the shop! It’s a treasure hunt every time you walk in.
